Welcome to the Office of Campus Ministry for Columbus Catholic High School. The goal of Campus Ministry is to work closely with students, parents, and staff in the formation of young men and women in the image of Christ through prayer, study, and service. The Office of Campus Ministry also works to maintain a strong connection with the Catholic parishes of Waterloo and Cedar Falls.
This year we’re celebrating the 50th anniversary of Columbus Catholic High School! We celebrate that Christ continues to be at the very heart of Columbus. We are working hard to further a Catholic culture at Columbus through prayer, service, and environment. Prayer begins and ends our day. Prayer begins our week. Prayer is said before meals and before any undertaking. Mass is celebrated each month and for each theology class each semester. The school environment reflects the Catholic faith through its adherence of the liturgical season. And mostly, we continue to work on creating an environment of respect, love, and unity. Also, you can be assured that at Columbus our students will hear the truth in love!
This year’s theme is based on the letter of St. Paul to the Philippians (4:13): “Together WE CAN do all things through Christ who strengthens us.” We are building on last year’s theme: “We, though many, are one.” We worked very hard to tear down walls in order to build up the body of Christ at Columbus. Now is the time for this unified body of Christ to move forward with even greater action. We know that together WE CAN be a great Catholic School where each student grows in holiness and achieves excellence in academics. We know that together WE CAN be an agent of love in the community through advocacy and service. We know that together WE CAN celebrate the continuation of Christ’s presence at Columbus Catholic High School for another 50 years!
