Catholic Daughters of the Americas Court Castile 49 is offering a scholarship to a deserving high school girl of the Catholic faith. Judging will be based on need, grammar, clarity and meaningful content. Applications are in the guidance office. Deadline is May 5th.

The Iowa Theta Chapter of Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraterity is offering scholarships to freshman males who will be attending UNI this fall. The Balanced Man Scholarship seeks qualified men who embody the principles of a balanced life, sound mind and sound body. Mount Mercy offers $1,000 scholarships to students gradauating from a Catholic high school.

Northwest Iowa Community College in Sheldon, Iowa is offering scholarships to students entering their Biotechnology Lab Technician Program. Applications are in the guidance office.

The Columbus Academic Boosters are offering two $500 scholarships. These scholarships are available to any senior who, at any time in their high school career, have been awarded the ABC Sailor of the Month Award. Forms are in the guidance office. Deadline is April 18th

The Alpha Beta Chapter of Beta Theta Pi fraternity is offering a scholarship to young men who will be attending the University of Iowa for the first time. Applicants do not need any affiliation with Beta Theta Pi, and there is no commitment to join if selected. Applications are in the guidance office. Deadline if June 4th.

Kwik Trip is offering a Community Scholarship. Columbus will pick one student for this scholarship. Applications are in the guidance office and due back to the guidance office April 25th.

The Waterloo Jaycees are offering a Scholarship. The scholarship selection committee focuses primarily on community service and extracurricular activities. A 2.5 GPA is required. Forms are in the Guidance Office. Deadline is April 15th.

Forms are in the guidance office for the Iver Christoffersen Scholarship. Must be a resident of Cedar Falls and have participated in Cedar Falls Community Theater productions or volunteer work. Deadline is April 21st.

Forms for the Annual Mary McLeod Bethune Scholarship are available in the guidance office. The scholarship is designated for African American male and female graduating seniors with a minimum GPA of 2.25. Deadline is April 4th.

The Phi Kappa Theta Fraternity at Iowa State University is pleased to offer the Richard Concannon Memorial Scholarship, available to freshmen males attending Iowa State. The Home Builders Association of Northeast Iowa is offering the "2008 Parade of Homes Student Scholarship. To be eligible you must be pursuing a course study in the home building or related industry. Applications are in the guidance office. Deadline is April 30th.

The James B. Morris Scholarship Fund is offering scholarships to minority students. Must have a minimum of a 2.5 GPA. Deadline is March 15th. Applications are in the guidance office.

Warren Transportation Club is offering a scholarship. Applications are in the guidance office. Deadline is May 9th.

Any Senior from St. Patrick's Parish may pick up forms at the St. Patrick's Parish Office or from Katie Wilson for a Scholarship from St. Patrick's given to a graduating Senior who is involved with school, parish, and/or community activities. The requirements are to write an essay, document activities, and provide two letters of recommendation.

The University of Iowa's Knights of Columbus Council is awarding scholarships to Catholic men who will be attending Iowa in the fall. Application in the guidance office. Deadline is March 31st.

The Waterloo Educational Support Personnel is offering a $500 scholarship. WESP membership is required of a parent for at least one year before member's son or daughter is eligible for scholarship.

Charlie Burkart Scholarship - a 4,000 scholarship over 4 years. Scholarship winners are selected on the basis of their interest and activity in golf and the potential for future contributions to the game, then on their academic ability and financial need. Buena Vista University's Scholarship Competition Days are on February 2 and 23. These days are set aside for students who qualify for the exceptional merit awards to compete and all students be recognized for academic awards for Buena Vista.

For Juniors Only! The 2008 Brian Pearson Memorial Scholarship applications are now available in the guidance office. Each year a $1,000 scholarship is awarded to one female and one male who exemplify the spirit of Brian Pearson. Throughout the selection process, the degree of participation in Iowa Sports Foundation events (Iowa Games, Net Fest, Hoopin' At The Dome) will be given consideration, as well as the applicant's display of character and communitly involvement. Nacel Open Door, a non-profit educational exchange organization, is offering the 2008-2009 Congress-Bundestag Vocational Youth Exchange Scholarship Program. This program is sponsored by the U.S. Congress and German Bundestag,and invites graduating high school seniors to spend a year in Germany; learning the language, experiencing the culture, living with a host family, and gaining hands-on experience through an internship with a German company. The University of Northern Iowa School of Music is offering music scholarships. Recepients are selected on the basis of talent and departmental need. The Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare System through the Sartori Memorial Hospital and the Covenant Medical Center Auxuliaries are offering scholarships to students planning a healthcare career. Scholarships will be awarded on the basis of academics, financial need and citizenship. Applicants must have a GPA of 3.0 or better. UNI is offering a new scholarship for incoming freshman who are interested in majoring in the departments of Chemistry and Biochemistry, Computer Science, Earth Science, Mathematics, or Physics. This scholarship will provide support up to $7,000 a year for four years. Deadline is February 1st. For more information contact the College of Natural Sciences at UNI.

The Intercollegiate Studies Institute is having their annual essay competition for high school students, "George Washington and the Future of the American Presidency." Iowa State University is offering a Multicultural Vision Program Award. The Award is a four-year full tuition grant for 100 minority high school seniors. Eligibility requirements: 1. A resident of Iowa, 2. Admissible to Iowa State University, 3. American Indian or Alasakan Native, African American, Asisan American/Pacific Islander, or Latino/a., 4. Demonstrate financial need., 5. The Hy-Vee Foundation is offering 40 - $1,000 scholarships to seniors who are working at Hy-Vee or whose parents work there. Information on the scholarship can be found at www.hy-vee.com under company information. Deadline is February 10, 2008.

For the past twenty-five years, youngARTS, a program of National Foundation for Advancement in the Arts, has recognized and rewarded high school seniors in the disciplines of cinematic arts, dance, jazz, classical music, photography, theater, visual arts, voice and writing. Individual awards are available and range from $100 to $10,000. More information is available at www.youngARTS.org.

Students who are accepted to Iowa State University are automatically considered for the following scholarships:
Academic Recognition Award - must be ranked in the top 15% of their graduating class. Award is $500 - $1,000 and is renewable.
The President's Award for Competitive Excellence - $6,000 over 4 years - requires that you have had calculus - 3 years from biology, chemistry and physics - 4 years of a single foreign language - 3.30 GPA or higher - ACT composite of 28 or SAT of at leasat 1240 (Critical Reading plus Math)
